About Me

Hello and thank you for visiting my blog! I'm Jenna. To my students, I'm Doc Cop. I am a high school English teacher with a Ph.D. in Education and a passion for teaching. I teach AP Literature and Composition, AP Language and Composition, British Literature, and American Literature and serve as the English Department Chair. I also am a part-time professor in the English Studies and Communication Skills Department at local university.

What should you know about me?

I have wonderful husband whom I met during grad school. I thought it was a coincidence that he sat by me; it wasn't. ;) My husband is also a high school teacher who teaches AP Government and Politics, AP US History, and Senior Government. We are very fortunate to work in the same school. We have two daughters, Gianna and Camilla. When I'm not teaching, I'm spending time with my family.

Why should you follow my blog?

I love writing: research, narratives, poetry, creative nonfiction, curriculum, unit plans, you name it.

I love researching. My research interests include information and communication technology, mobile learning, textual analysis, higher-order thinking strategies, and literary theory.

I’ll share all of my successes, tricks, tips, and projects with you along the way.

Thank you so much for reading my blog and inspiring me to keep writing!
